GRIVAS & JO — Withdrawal & Returns

Version 1.2 — October 2026

1. Your Right of Withdrawal

If you are a consumer and enter into a distance contract with GRIVAS & JO through the online Art Gallery, you have the statutory right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days without giving a reason. This applies to Available Now and Made to Order artworks, originals and prints, whether collected (Pickup) or delivered. Exceptions apply only to qualifying custom-made or personalised artwork (Section 10).

2. When the Withdrawal Period Begins

The period ends 14 days after the day on which you, or a third party designated by you other than the carrier, take physical possession of the artwork.

  • Pickup: the date the artwork is physically collected.
  • Delivery (Austria and Greece, Austrian Post): the date the artwork is delivered to you.
  • Several artworks delivered separately: the date the last artwork is received.

Collection or receipt may be recorded through the secure confirmation process. That record only documents the date and fact of handover or receipt.

3. How to Withdraw

Inform GRIVAS & JO with a clear statement before the period expires. No reason is required. You may use:

  • the Cancel / Withdraw from Order function on the website;
  • the secure Cancel / Withdraw link in your order communications;
  • email to info@grivasjo.com; or
  • the Model Withdrawal Form below.

Sending your notice before the period expires is enough. When you use the online function, we confirm receipt of your withdrawal.

4. Withdrawal Before Collection or Delivery

You may withdraw before you receive or collect the artwork. If it has not been dispatched or collected, you do not need to return anything. If it is already in transit, please refuse it or contact us. We will tell you how to return it.

5. Returning the Artwork

Return or hand over the artwork without undue delay and no later than 14 days after you notify us of your withdrawal. The deadline is met if you send the artwork before the 14 days expire. Please contact info@grivasjo.com first so we can confirm the return address or the agreed handover location.

Please pack the artwork securely, ideally in its original packaging, and use a trackable shipment. Take reasonable care of the artwork until it is returned.

6. Return Shipping Costs

SituationWho pays the return
Withdrawal without a defect ("change of mind"), Delivery ordersYou pay the direct cost of returning the artwork
Pickup ordersFree of charge if returned in person at a location agreed with GRIVAS & JO (or by post at your cost)
Defective, incorrect or transport-damaged artworkGRIVAS & JO pays all necessary return and replacement shipping costs

The direct return cost depends on the parcel's dimensions, weight and the country it is sent from, and is charged by the carrier you choose. GRIVAS & JO adds no fee.

Oversized artworks. If an artwork cannot normally be returned by post because of its size, we give you the estimated return cost before purchase, together with its individual shipping quotation.

7. Refunds

After a valid withdrawal, we refund all payments received for the withdrawn artwork, including the original standard delivery charge, without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we receive your withdrawal notice.

  • If you chose a delivery method more expensive than our standard delivery, the extra cost is not refunded.
  • If you withdraw from only part of a multi-unit order, the delivery charge is refunded where and to the extent required by law.
  • Refunds use the same payment method you used (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Stripe Link through Stripe; bank transfer to your account for bank-transfer payments), unless we expressly agree otherwise. You are not charged any refund fees.
  • If you have already received the artwork, we may withhold the refund until we receive the artwork back or you provide proof that you sent it, whichever is earlier, unless we offered to collect it ourselves.

A withdrawal notice does not mean the refund has already been processed. Refunds are documented with a credit note where required.

8. Condition of Returned Artwork

You may handle the artwork as needed to establish its nature, characteristics and condition. You are liable only for any loss of value caused by handling beyond that.

9. Defective, Incorrect or Transport-Damaged Artworks

If an artwork is defective, not as ordered or damaged in transport, please contact info@grivasjo.com, ideally with photos. We will provide a prepaid return or arrange collection. GRIVAS & JO bears all necessary costs, including return, repair, replacement and redelivery. Reporting visible damage promptly helps with carrier claims, but it is not a condition for your statutory rights.

10. Custom-Made / Personalised Artwork

The right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised (§ 18(1)(3) FAGG). This applies only where the artwork is actually produced to your individual choices or specifications, for example a Custom Artwork commission or an approved personalisation. The label "Made to Order" alone, or production after ordering from the standard Gallery range, does not exclude the right of withdrawal. Where the exception applies, you are told before you are bound by the contract and before payment.

Hand-painted artworks may be created freehand or using guided painting techniques, including Paint by Numbers (PBN). Your statutory right of withdrawal and your statutory warranty rights apply in the same way whichever painting technique was used.

Minor variations inherent to hand-painted work, such as brushwork, colour tone, texture and artistic detail, are not defects in themselves. This does not affect your rights where the artwork is defective, damaged or does not match the agreed specifications.

11. Delivery Times for Made to Order Hand-painted Artworks

Made to Order hand-painted artworks need longer to produce. Before payment, you must expressly agree in the checkout to the displayed estimated delivery time: 30 calendar days (Austria and Greece). This agreement does not limit your right of withdrawal or your statutory rights if delivery is delayed.

12. Statutory Warranty Rights

The right of withdrawal is separate from your statutory warranty rights (generally two years from handover under Austrian law). Collection or receipt confirmation, inspection at handover and the end of the withdrawal period do not remove these rights. More information is on the Statutory Warranty page.
